Hot Work is the gear set that hands out Fire and Natural damage. Five of its ten pieces carry that bonus in the data, which is more than any other set in the game files, and one more piece carries an all-skill damage line instead. If you are gearing Ember, Laevatain, Camille, Wulfgard, Akekuri, Gilberta, Ardelia, Arcane or Fluorite, this is the set whose bonuses are aimed at them. Nine of the 31 operators in the roster are Heat or Nature, and nobody else is.
The rest of this page comes straight out of the game files: every piece, the bonus size at each step, how the set stacks up against the others, and the two version notes that name it. Where the files stop short, I say so instead of filling the gap.
The set in numbers
- 10 pieces, all five-star, all wearable from level 70.
- 2 body, 4 hands, 4 universal. Only two other sets in the library give you four hand pieces.
- 10 gear templates, one per piece. The pairing is exact, so every piece has a blueprint and no blueprint covers two pieces.
- 6 pieces with a named bonus: five Fire & Natural, one all-skill damage.
- 9 of 10 pieces roll three attribute lines. The Pyrometer is the exception with two.
- Heat 5 / Nature 4 operators in the roster, out of 31.
Every Hot Work piece
The slot column is the socket the piece occupies. The bonus column quotes the label stored in the file, because those labels are readable even where the individual attribute names are not.
| Piece | Slot | Attribute lines | Named bonus |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hot Work Exoskeleton | Body | 3 | Fire & Natural |
| Hot Work Exo-Rig | Body | 3 | Fire & Natural |
| Hot Work Power Bank | Universal | 3 | โ |
| Hot Work Pyrometer | Universal | 2 | โ |
| Hot Work Power Cartridge | Universal | 3 | โ |
| Hot Work Insulation Slab | Universal | 3 | All skill damage |
| Hot Work Gloves | Hands | 3 | โ |
| Hot Work Gauntlets | Hands | 3 | Fire & Natural |
| Hot Work Gauntlets T1 | Hands | 3 | Fire & Natural |
| Hot Work Hands PPE | Hands | 3 | Fire & Natural |
Two name pairs are worth knowing before you go shopping. The Exoskeleton and the Exo-Rig are two body pieces, not an upgrade path. The same goes for Gauntlets against Gauntlets T1: both carry the same Fire & Natural bonus at the same size, and the T1 just pairs it with a different set of secondary lines.
Fire & Natural is the whole point
Five pieces give Fire and Natural damage, and the size scales with the slot. Body pieces open at 11.5% and finish at 14.95%. Hand pieces open at 19.17% and finish at 24.92%. Take one body piece and one hand piece and you are already looking at roughly 30% before enhancement, which is the reason the set reads as a package rather than a pile of parts.
| Piece | Slot | Base | Step 1 | Step 2 | Step 3 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hot Work Exoskeleton | Body | 11.5% | 12.65% | 13.8% | 14.95% |
| Hot Work Exo-Rig | Body | 11.5% | 12.65% | 13.8% | 14.95% |
| Hot Work Gauntlets | Hands | 19.17% | 21.08% | 23% | 24.92% |
| Hot Work Gauntlets T1 | Hands | 19.17% | 21.08% | 23% | 24.92% |
| Hot Work Hands PPE | Hands | 19.17% | 21.08% | 23% | 24.92% |
The sixth piece breaks the pattern: the Insulation Slab carries all-skill damage at 27.6%, rising to 35.88% at the last step. Every skill gets the bonus, not only the elemental ones, so it is the piece to keep if you are running the set on a mixed kit.
How it compares with the other five-star sets
Plenty of sets carry one named bonus piece somewhere in the list. What sets Hot Work apart is the concentration. Counting every piece in the 243-item gear library by the bonus label in its file:
| Set | Damage bonuses | Fire & Natural | Cryst & Pulse | All skill | Spell | Other lines |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hot Work | 6 | 5 | 0 | 1 | 0 | โ |
| Bonekrusha | 4 | 1 | 3 | 0 | 0 | โ |
| AIC Fieldwork | 3 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 3 | sub-stat ร12, main-stat ร9 |
| Qingbo | 2 | 1 | 0 | 1 | 0 | โ |

| Mordvolt Insulation | 2 | 0 | 1 | 0 | 1 | โ |
| Type 50 Yinglung | 2 | 0 | 0 | 2 | 0 | โ |
| Aburrey | 2 | 0 | 0 | 2 | 0 | โ |
| Tide Fall / Tide Surge | 2 | 0 | 2 | 0 | 0 | โ |

Bonekrusha is the nearest rival with four damage pieces, but three of them are Cryst & Pulse and only one is Fire & Natural. No other set in the library carries more than a single Fire & Natural piece. From there the field flattens out: AIC Fieldwork runs three spell damage lines, and Qingbo, MI Security, Frontiers and a handful of others stop at two. If you want one damage type stacked high, five pieces in the same family is a thing only this set does.
What each piece rolls, in numbers
The flat value differs by slot and stays constant across the set: 56 on both body pieces, 42 on the four hand pieces, 21 on all four universal pieces. The ladder below shows the main modifier line and its three enhancement steps. The attribute names behind these indices are not reliably mapped in the game files, so treat the numbers as sizes and not as named stats.
| Piece | Flat value | Main line | Step 1 | Step 2 | Step 3 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hot Work Exoskeleton | 56 | 87 | 95 | 104 | 113 |
| Hot Work Exo-Rig | 56 | 87 | 95 | 104 | 113 |
| Hot Work Power Bank | 21 | 32 | 35 | 38 | 41 |
| Hot Work Pyrometer | 21 | 41 | 45 | 49 | 53 |
| Hot Work Power Cartridge | 21 | 32 | 35 | 38 | 41 |
| Hot Work Insulation Slab | 21 | 32 | 35 | 38 | 41 |
| Hot Work Gloves | 42 | 65 | 71 | 78 | 84 |
| Hot Work Gauntlets | 42 | 65 | 71 | 78 | 84 |
| Hot Work Gauntlets T1 | 42 | 65 | 71 | 78 | 84 |
| Hot Work Hands PPE | 42 | 65 | 71 | 78 | 84 |
Heat and Nature operators, by the numbers
The roster splits 10 Physical, 7 Cryo, 5 Heat, 5 Electric and 4 Nature. Those nine Heat and Nature operators are the ones the bonus speaks to, and six of them are six-star.
| Operator | Rarity | Class | Element |
|---|---|---|---|
| Camille | 6โ | Vanguard | Heat |
| Ember | 6โ | Defender | Heat |
| Laevatain | 6โ | Striker | Heat |
| Arcane | 6โ | Caster | Nature |
| Ardelia | 6โ | Supporter | Nature |
| Gilberta | 6โ | Supporter | Nature |
| Wulfgard | 5โ | Caster | Heat |
| Akekuri | 4โ | Vanguard | Heat |
| Fluorite | 4โ | Caster | Nature |
Read that as a starting point, not a rule. The gear files carry no field linking a piece to an operator, so the mapping from set to character is something players work out from the element on the operator and the element named in the bonus. Nothing in the data ranks Hot Work above another set for any specific character.
The two version notes that mention Hot Work
| Date | Note | What it says |
|---|---|---|
| 2026-03-12 | [Old Deep Water Dies, by Rising Tide It is Denied] update notes | Added new gear pieces to gear sets, with the Hot Work Gear Pack named alongside nine others. |
| 2026-07-16 | [Homecoming] update notes | Added new gear pieces to gear sets [Hot Work], [Eternal Xiranite] and [LYNX]. |
That is the whole paper trail. The March note introduced the set in a batch of ten gear packs, the July note topped three of those sets up. Neither note says how many pieces arrived on which date, so I cannot tell you which of the ten are from March and which from July. Four months and ten packs in one line is also why the set can be hard to place if you joined later.
Getting the set
Gear does not drop from stages here. Each piece is assembled, and each assembly needs its template: Once acquired, the specified gear can be crafted. The templates for this set are the ten items starting item_formu_t4_suit_fire_natr01_body_01, and the naming matches the gear ids one for one, which makes them easy to look up.
The files have no field for where a template comes from, so I will not invent a drop table. The two routes the official notes do name are the Talosite Exchange, which has carried Gear Templates since the July update, and the Arsenal Defense Crate handed out in operator trial events, which contains a fully artificed level 60 set built for the trial operator rather than this one in particular. Collecting Talosites in Wuling remains the route you can plan around.
Once you own the templates, artificing is where the real work sits. Progress is stored per stat, so a failed roll is not wasted, and feeding the process gear the game marks as a good match raises the chance of a direct success.
What the data does not say
Four gaps worth naming, because they are the questions the set guide cannot answer.
- No per-piece release date. The version notes batch the set, and the archive starts in January 2026.
- No source field on gear or templates. Nothing records which stage, vendor or event hands a piece over.
- No attribute names. The file stores indices, and two tables in the game data disagree about what those indices mean, so the numbers above stay unnamed on purpose.
- No operator mapping. Nothing ties Hot Work, or any other set, to a character.
For the wider picture, the gear set overview covers all 23 sets and the artificing rules, and the set pages for Eternal Xiranite, Frontiers and Grizzled Edge follow the same layout as this one. The set index lists every piece by slot if you just want to browse.
