Endfield Headhunting Guide
Everything the official announcements confirm about Chartered Headhunting — the 60-pull Dossier, the 10-pull guarantee, and the rules that most players get wrong.
What is Chartered Headhunting?
Chartered Headhunting is the main operator gacha in Arknights: Endfield. Each limited banner features a rate-up 6★ operator plus the standard pool, and runs on its own schedule — typically until the next version update or a set date. You pull using HH Permits, which you earn in-game, buy with Oroberyls, or exchange through the AIC Quota Exchange.
The 60-pull Headhunting Dossier — the real guarantee
Per the official rules, after performing 60 headhunting attempts on a Chartered Headhunting banner, you receive a bonus Headhunting Dossier. This is the closest thing to a hard guarantee in the system, and it's the number you should plan around when deciding whether to commit to a banner.
Use the Headhunting Pity Tracker to keep count — the tracker is saved in your browser, so it survives banner changes.
The free 10× guarantee
When you perform a free 10× headhunting attempt (granted through Urgent Recruitment and similar events), it guarantees a 5★ or better operator. This is a separate, weaker guarantee than the Dossier — it only guarantees 5★, not 6★.
Rules players often get wrong
- Free 10× attempts do not count toward the Dossier. Official text is explicit: the free 10× from Urgent Recruitment "does not count toward the guarantee for this or other Chartered Headhunting banners" and is not added to the total headhunting attempts required for the Dossier.
- The 10× guarantee and the 60-pull Dossier are separate. Hitting a 5★ from the free 10× doesn't reset or advance your Dossier counter — it simply doesn't interact with it.
- Bonus recruitment attempts exist. Some banners (e.g. Fest of Brilliance, Hues of Passion) give you 10 bonus Urgent Recruitment attempts at 30 headhunting attempts — a free 10× pull as a milestone reward. These follow the same "doesn't count toward Dossier" rule.
- Weapon banners are a different system. LTO (Limited Time Offer) weapon banners like Military Grade Issue feature a rate-up 6★ weapon and end after a set number of Chartered Headhunting banners — they use the weapon pool, not the operator pool.
How to plan your pulls
The Dossier is the only confirmed pity milestone in the official announcements, so a safe rule is: don't start a banner unless you can reach 60 attempts on it, and stop at 60 if you've claimed your Dossier unless you want the rate-up dupe. Track your count with the pity tracker and check the banner schedule for how long each banner actually runs.
Frequently asked questions
The officially confirmed guarantee is the Headhunting Dossier bonus at 60 attempts. There is no published "100% at pull N" hard-pity number in the announcements, so treat 60 as your guaranteed milestone.
No. Official text: free 10× attempts from Urgent Recruitment do not count toward the Dossier guarantee and are not added to the total attempts required.
The Dossier bonus is tied to the current Chartered Headhunting banner — claim it before the banner ends. The tracker is a planning tool, not an official in-game counter.
HH Permits are the headhunting currency for Chartered Headhunting pulls. Oroberyls are the premium currency used to buy HH Permits and other items, including through the AIC Quota Exchange.
