Frontiers is one of the larger five-star gear sets in Arknights: Endfield, and most people meet it one item at a time. The Frontiers Protection Suit is the piece that shows up in search, followed by the Extra O2 Tube and the Blight RES gloves. Each of those links to a database row that lists a name and a number but never explains the set around it. This page does that: the 14 pieces, how the variants differ, and what the game text actually says about getting them.
What the Frontiers set is
In our data Frontiers is a suitID group of 14 equipment records. All 14 are gold quality, all list a Lv.70 minimum wear level, and all sit in the same internal domain grouping (domain_2), which the data does not translate into an official region name. Every piece carries the same description: "Designed by Northmarch Support Hub and assembled by the AIC. This equipment improves the wearer's combat capabilities."
The credit is narrower than it sounds. Northmarch Support Hub appears in the description of exactly those 14 items and nowhere else in the 243-piece equipment file, so Frontiers is the only gear line the game text attaches that name to. Two pieces, the Extra O2 Tube T1 and the Fiber Gloves T1, say "assembled by the AIC Factory" instead of "the AIC". Seventeen items across several sets use that longer phrasing, so it reads like a text inconsistency rather than a distinction between pieces.
All 14 Frontiers pieces
Sorted by slot. Base value is the single starting attribute the data stores for a piece; modifier rows are the extra rolls attached to it. The last column links the Gear Template that unlocks crafting.

The Protection Suit is a fifth body piece, not an upgrade
Body is the crowded slot in this set. Five pieces fill it: Armor, Armor T1, Armor T2, Armor T3, and the Protection Suit. The T-numbered ones are variants of the same slot rather than steps in a ladder, which matches what the wider equipment data shows across all sets: a T suffix marks a different roll assignment, not a higher tier. All five are 5★, all Lv.70, and all carry the same base value of 56.
The Protection Suit breaks the naming pattern by dropping the T suffix, but nothing else about it is special in the data: same slot, same level, same base value, three modifier rows like most of the set. It is also the only item in the entire equipment file with "Protection Suit" in its name, which is probably why it gets searched on its own.
Three O2 tubes, and only one of them has a T1
The universal slot holds six pieces: Comm, Comm T1, Analyzer, O2 Tube, Extra O2 Tube, and Extra O2 Tube T1. The tubes are the confusing part. There is no O2 Tube T1 in the data. The T1 variant belongs to the Extra O2 Tube, so if you are looking for the upgraded tube, the name you want is Extra O2 Tube T1.
The other thing worth knowing is that "O2 Tube" is not a Frontiers-only idea. The only other tube in the equipment file is the Hanging River O2 Tube, a piece from the four-item Tide Fall and Tide Surge group that shares nothing with Frontiers except the object in the name. Two different suits, two unrelated pieces, one very similar label.
The Blight RES gloves are the only Blight item in the database
Of 243 equipment records, exactly one has "Blight" in its name: the Frontiers Blight RES Gloves. It is also the only piece with "RES" in the name. That makes it easy to find and easy to over-read.
The catch is that the gear data stores no resistance value for it. The only Blight Miasma numbers anywhere in our files belong to personal devices, where the XC-Ⅰ lists a tolerance of 450 and the XC-Ⅱ lists 600, and those numbers sit on a different item type entirely (see the personal devices guide for that system). So the gloves are named for Blight resistance, and the database cannot confirm what, if anything, they add. If you are heading into the North Wuling Exclusion Zone, the item that carries an actual tolerance figure is the device in your backpack slot, not this pair of gloves. The Blightshade enemies guide covers what you will be fighting there.
Base value is a slot constant, with one exception
Almost every five-star piece in the database shares one base value per slot: 56 for body, 42 for hands, 21 for universal. That covers 43 of 46 body pieces, 39 of 42 hands pieces, and 61 of 64 universal pieces. All nine exceptions are AIC Fieldwork gear, which sits at 48, 36, and 18.
So for Frontiers, switching between the Armor, the T variants, and the Protection Suit does not move the base number at all. The differences live entirely in the modifiers, and our data does not map modifier ids to attribute names, so this page will not pretend to rank the pieces for you. Compare them in game.
Templates: 14 pieces, 14 templates
Every Frontiers piece has a matching Gear Template with the same suffix in its id, and the mapping is exact in both directions: no piece without a template, no template without a piece. The template description is the same flat line for all of them, "Once acquired, the specified gear can be crafted."
A template is a permission slip, not a recipe. Our files contain no ingredient list for it and no field describing where it comes from. The broad routes the official notes describe apply to gear templates in general: the Talosite Exchange, and the Arsenal Defense Crate that hands trial operators a set of fully artificed Lv.60 gear. The gear sets and artificing guide goes through assembly and the artificing UI; this page stays on Frontiers.
What the official notes say about Frontiers
Two version notes mention the set by name. The 12 March 2026 notes for [Old Deep Water Dies, by Rising Tide It is Denied] list [Frontiers Gear Pack] among ten gear packs added to the game, alongside Type 50 Yinglung, MI Security, Hot Work, Pulser Labs, Bonekrusha, Æthertech, LYNX, Swordmancer, and Redeemer. The 17 April 2026 notes for [At the Wake of Spring] say new pieces were added to the Bonekrusha, Frontiers, and Swordmancer sets.
Neither note dates the set's first appearance. Our news archive starts in January 2026, and nothing in it announces Frontiers before the March pack listing, so treat "added in 1.1" as unconfirmed.
Where Frontiers sits among the gear sets
14 pieces puts Frontiers joint second with Bonekrusha, behind MI Security. Both sets also happen to use the same 5/3/6 slot split. The smallest labelled set is Grizzled Edge at six pieces, with only two options per slot.
| Gear set | Pieces | Body | Hands | Universal |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| MI Security | 15 | 5 | 4 | 6 |
| Frontiers | 14 | 5 | 3 | 6 |
| Bonekrusha | 14 | 5 | 3 | 6 |
| Grizzled Edge | 6 | 2 | 2 | 2 |
Piece count is not a power measure, and nothing in the data supports treating a 15-piece set as better than a 6-piece one. It is a measure of how many modifier combinations you can choose from in each slot.
What this page cannot tell you
- Attribute names. Modifier ids are not mapped in our files, so no piece gets an attack, defence, or crit label here.
- Set bonuses. There is no set-bonus field in the equipment data, so this page makes no claim either way about whether Frontiers grants one.
- Drop sources or rates. Gear records have no source field, and the notes never name a Frontiers drop.
- Official region naming. domain_2 is an internal grouping; the data does not say which named region it corresponds to.
