Arknights: Endfield's [Sanctuary of Ink] version goes live on October 15, 2026, and the pre-download notice published on October 13 answers the practical questions: how long the servers stay down, how much you have to download, how much free space the client needs, and what the compensation is. This page collects exactly those facts.
When does [Sanctuary of Ink] go live?
The version update runs through a mandatory maintenance. You cannot log in while it is running, and when it finishes you have to re-download the client. The window is one six-hour block worldwide, written below in each server's local time:

Both rows are the same moment. If you play on the Americas or Europe server, your downtime falls on the evening of October 14 rather than the 15th, because 17:00 UTC-5 is already 06:00 on October 15 at UTC+8. Maintenance is scheduled to end at 12:00 (UTC+8), which is when the client switches to [Sanctuary of Ink].
Pre-download so you skip most of the wait
Pre-download is open now. Anything you pull down in advance is subtracted from what you still have to download after maintenance, so it is worth doing on a stable connection.

One catch on mobile: the mobile pre-download is expected to close on Oct. 15, 2026 at 05:30 (UTC+8), half an hour before maintenance starts, and you cannot play the game while a mobile pre-download is running. If you miss it, you end up doing the same download after maintenance with nothing to play in the meantime.
Clear the free space first
The update needs the download size free, plus a second chunk of free space while it extracts files. That extra space is temporary and comes back once extraction finishes.

PC players are pointed at an SSD for the extraction step. The PlayStation 5 numbers are the ones people get caught by: 47GB to download and 52GB more free on top of that, so a nearly full console drive is the most likely reason an update stalls.
Compensation: 900 Oroberyl
- Amount: Oroberylร900.
- Eligibility: any account that created a character before the update.
- Distribution period: after this update's maintenance until just before the next version's maintenance.
- Delivery: in-game mail. The mail expires during the next version update and maintenance, so claim it instead of leaving it in the inbox.
How to update after maintenance ends
- PC: close the game, restart GRYPHLINK, then click [Update].
- Android: open the game and follow the pop-up prompts.
- iOS: open the App Store and tap [Update].
- PlayStation 5: home screen → select [Arknights: Endfield] → press [OPTIONS] → [Check for Update].
Claim the New Version Guide page bundle before maintenance
The [New Version Guide] page hands out a one-time bundle to any account that has finished character creation, and its claim window closes when maintenance begins. Once [Sanctuary of Ink] is live the [Claim Rewards] button is gone and that version's bundle cannot be picked up afterwards. Before the servers go down
- Pre-download on the platform you will actually play on, before the mobile window closes.
- Claim the New Version Guide page bundle while the button still exists.
- Free up the extraction space listed above, especially on PlayStation 5.
- Check the banner schedule so you know what you are logging back in for.
- Expect to re-download the client even if you pre-downloaded. Pre-downloads reduce the work, not the step.
Steam launches the same day
The Steam release of Arknights: Endfield is dated to the same October 15 update, with cross-platform account data synchronization, so you log in with your existing account and keep the same save. The store page is Steam app 4732690. If you took part in the earlier Steam [Pioneer Test] or the wishlist milestone campaign, the full release runs on the same live data.
What this notice still does not cover
The [Sanctuary of Ink] developer comm released on October 7 previewed the system changes (factory placement from storage, farming Top View and Fertilization Assist, the [Auto-Farmer], combo skill priority, the [Gear Plan]) and is summarised in our version guide. What neither document gives you yet:
- The full patch notes, which arrive with the version.
- New operators, headhunting banners or story chapters. The developer comm named none, so treat anything unannounced as speculation.
- Event dates and reward lists for the version's events.
- When the [Auto-Farmer] reaches the Wuling City farming area, beyond "as the story progresses".
