[Old Deep Water Dies, by Rising Tide It is Denied] — commonly numbered Version 1.1 — was the first core chapter version update of Arknights: Endfield after the January 2026 global release. It shipped on March 12, 2026 (Asia server), introduced the 6★ operators Tangtang and Rossi, continued the Wuling storyline to Chapter II Process III, opened the new Wuling - Qingbo Stockade area, and delivered a large AIC Factory, progression and quality-of-life pass. If you skipped this window, two things from 1.1 still matter today: the permanent [Beginner's Chartered Tribute] event (up to 10 Chartered Headhunting Permits) and the operators Tangtang and Rossi, who remain in the standard 6★ Chartered pool rotation. Maintenance, compensation & how to update

Maintenance for the mandatory client update ran on the following schedule:

• Asia server: Mar. 12, 2026, 06:00–12:00 (UTC+8)
• Americas / Europe server: Mar. 11, 2026, 17:00–23:00 (UTC-5)

Compensation was sent in two separate in-game mails: Oroberyl ×900 for update & maintenance and Oroberyl ×900 for bug fixes — 1,800 Oroberyls total. Both mails were distributed after maintenance, required a character created before the update, and expired at the start of the next version maintenance, so claim them in time if they are still sitting in your mailbox.

The update was mandatory and required a full client re-download. Official storage estimates from the pre-update notice:

• iOS: 9GB download (+20GB free space for extraction)
• Android: 6GB download (+20GB free space)
• PlayStation 5: 37GB download (+48GB free space)
• PC: 37GB download (+48GB free space, SSD recommended)

Update paths: iOS opens the App Store and taps Update; Android follows the in-game pop-up prompt; PS5 selects the game on the home screen, presses OPTIONS → Check for Update; PC restarts the GRYPHLINK launcher and clicks Update.

New operators: Tangtang & Rossi (6★)

The version introduced two 6★ operators, both joining the Endfield Industries roster:

• Tangtang — 6★ Caster, Cryo element. Main attribute: Corrosion Boost; sub attribute: Solidification Boost. A Feline caster whose attribute mix points at Cryo reaction play — corrosion and solidification both scale with elemental application, so she rewards teams that keep Cryo uptime high. • Rossi — 6★ Guard, Physical element. Main attribute: Corrosion Boost; sub attribute: Combo Skill Cooldown Reduction. Both entries come from the EndfieldDex character database, which also powers the rarity tier list. As a side note, the 1.1 notes adjusted the description text of 6★ operator Yvonne's ultimate (no gameplay change) and fixed a case where she could not perform a finisher — she has been in the standard pool since launch, ahead of her RE-Factor banner in September 2026.

• [Gently Flows Qingbo] sign-in — running alongside [River's Daughter], sign in for a total of 7 days to earn rewards including [Gently Flows Qingbo HH Permit] ×5.
• [Wolf Pearl] Chartered Headhunting — 6★ operator Rossi rate-up, from Mar. 29, 2026, 12:00 until the next version update and maintenance. Featured 6★ pool: Rossi / Tangtang / Yvonne / Ember / Lifeng / Ardelia / Last Rite / Pogranichnik, with a Combat Drills trial.
• [Pearl of the Pack] sign-in — sign in for a total of 7 days to earn rewards such as [Pearl of the Pack HH Permit] ×5.
• [Budding Anew Issue] LTO — 6★ weapon Brigand's Calling (Handcannon) rate-up, opening after the version update and ending after 3 Chartered Headhunting banners (counting from [River's Daughter]). Featured 6★ weapons: Brigand's Calling / Clannibal / Wedge / Chivalric Virtues / Thermite Cutter / Sundered Prince / JET.
• [Scarlet Pearl Issue] LTO — 6★ weapon Lupine Scarlet (Sword) rate-up, opening Mar. 29, 2026, 12:00. Featured 6★ weapons: Lupine Scarlet / Rapid Ascent / Eminent Repute / Wedge / Former Finery / Detonation Unit / Valiant.

New story, area, missions & enemies

• Main missions extended up to Chapter II Process III: 'Twas One River That Gave Us Drink.
• Exploration missions: [OD Project: Sky King Flats II] and [Call from the Blight].
• Side missions: [Seekers of the Lost Treasure I–III] and [Patron of the Spring I–III].
• New area: Wuling - Qingbo Stockade, plus a new TP point in Wuling City.
• New enemies: Highway Reaver, Sweeping Wind, Cloud Stalker, Nimbus Razor, Breaking Gust, Hill Smasher, Cloud Obliterator and more — browsable in the enemy database.

Events & challenges in 1.1

The version's biggest lasting addition is the [Beginner's Chartered Tribute] — a permanent event that gives a total of [Chartered Headhunting Permit] ×10 for completing specified missions. If you already met the requirements, the rewards could be claimed directly from the event screen; if you are new or returning, this is still claimable today and is one of the best free sources of pulls in the game.

• [Quietly Flows the Spring] guide event — mission rewards including Oroberyls and Mark of Perseverance (until Apr. 2, 2026).
• [Supply: Exploration Day] — supply tasks for the [Sticker: Cuisine of Exploration Day], Oroberyls, Mark of Perseverance and Advanced Cognitive Carrier (Mar. 19 – Apr. 2, 2026).
• [Umbral Monument] Searing Scars stages — 3 new challenge stages plus the [Monumental Etching: Scorch Mark] limited-time challenge (Mar. 26 – Apr. 9, 2026), rewarding Mark of Perseverance, Advanced Cognitive Carrier, Arms INSP Set and Protohedron.
• [Delver of the Cryptic] Grotto Survey spatial set — opened Mar. 29, 2026, with Oroberyls, Mark of Perseverance and Protohedron rewards.
• [Etchspace Salvage] Aberrant Zone 4 — a new area plus new operation metrics milestones granting Oroberyls, Basic Headhunting Permits and progression materials.
• [The Red Knight] narrative event — a side mission about a girl with a red cape, rewarding Oroberyls and the Arms INSP Set (from Mar. 29, 2026; the mission stays playable afterwards).
• [Cleanse and Rinse] — clean-up missions for [Portrait: Expert Cleaner], Oroberyls and more (Mar. 29 – Apr. 19, 2026).
• [Survival Training] — challenge stages for [Portrait: Expert Survivor], Oroberyls and more (Apr. 9 – Apr. 30, 2026).

Factory, progression & quality-of-life highlights

The DEV Comm (published Mar. 2, 2026) focused heavily on the AIC Factory and progression smoothness. Highlights that shipped in 1.1:

• Construction anywhere: facilities can now be built anywhere on the map without returning to the Core AIC Area or Sub-PAC.
• Power transmission range up: the wire disconnection distance for Relay Towers rose from 90m to 100m and for Electric Pylons from 40m to 50m (circuit connection distance unchanged), and power stays active during story dialogue.
• Zipline QoL: a mini-map now appears when mounting a zipline, and shared vs. own zipline styles are visually differentiated.
• New factory content: the [WULING AIC II] plan added facilities including Hydro Mining Rig, Conduit Inlet/Outlet, AF1 Armor Fragger and Deluge Tower, plus the Cuprium Ore mining spot; the Wuling Regional Development caps were raised.
• More Basic HH Permits: both the Basic and Originium Supply tiers of the new [Protocol Pass: Dark Currents] include Basic Headhunting Permits, and Regional Stock Redistribution and Etchspace Salvage gained additional ones.
• AIC Quota ×30: first-time acquisition of any 4/5/6★ operator now grants AIC Quota ×30 (retroactively mailed for operators already owned), and excess operator Tokens can be converted to Quota in one click.
• Valley Multi-Line Engraving Kit: purchasable with Valley Stock Bills after upgrading Stock Redistribution in Valley IV – Origin Lodespring to Level 4, granting an essence with three customized stats.
• Combat polish: clearer attack warnings for Advanced, Elite, Alpha and Boss enemies; Protocol Spaces for Operator/Weapon Progression, RE-Crisis and Crisis Drills now start at full HP and full Ultimate Energy; on mobile, holding the basic attack button queues it through ultimate animations.
• Gathering QoL: rare gatherables not picked up in time are auto-sent to the mail cache, and Burdo-Muck fertilization boost was raised from 1 minute to 1 hour.
