Searches for Endfield races and factions tend to land on the same two pages: the race grid and the faction list. Both are generated from the operator tag fields, which makes them good at answering who and bad at answering what. This page covers the rest โ€” how the two fields are recorded in the game files, every race currently attached to a playable operator, every faction that has operators in it, and the point where the data stops.

How race and faction are recorded

Each operator entry carries a tag list, and two families inside it matter here. tag_race_* holds the species line. tag_power_* holds the organisation the operator answers to. They are independent fields: Camille is Sarkaz by race and Seลก'qa by faction, Arcane is Liberi and Hongshan Academy of Sciences, and nothing in the tables ties one field to the other.

The Endministrator is the case that proves it. The three databank entries split three ways. Two list Undisclosed as the race and Endfield Industries as the faction, and the story entry carries no tags at all.

Operator tags also carry a handful of entries marked "SYSTEM ONLY, not visible in-game", Aerospace and Arknights among them. Those are internal filters rather than profile data, so they are left out of the tables below.

Every race with a playable operator

Nineteen race names appear across the roster, covering thirty of the thirty-one operator entries in our database. Sorted by how many operators each one holds.

The internal tag ids are worth reading because they spell the animal reading out in plain text: tag_race_fox sits behind Vulpo, tag_race_stoat behind Anaty, tag_race_sheep behind Caprinae. Where the tag is a loan rather than an animal (tag_race_angel for Sankta, tag_race_rootless for Anasa), we do not push the reading any further than the game does. Sarkaz is spelled tag_race_deavil in the files.

Races with more than one operator

Sarkaz leads the roster with five, and four of those are six-star: Laevatain, Last Rite, Mifu and Camille. Two are written up on this site, Mi Fu and Camille.

Liberi comes next at three: Pogranichnik, Arcane and Perlica. Then four races with two each, Feline (Tangtang, Estella), Lupo (Rossi, Wulfgard), Perro (Akekuri, Catcher) and Ursus (Snowshine, Da Pan), plus the two Undisclosed Endministrator entries.

That leaves twelve races with exactly one representative: Sankta (Ember), Vulpo (Gilberta), Anasa (Lifeng), Vouivre (Yvonne), Caprinae (Ardelia), Kylin (Zhuang Fangyi), Lung (Chen Qianyu), Kuranta (Arclight), Cautus (Avywenna), Anaty (Alesh), Phidia (Fluorite) and Savra (Antal).

Every faction with operators

Nine of the eleven faction ids in the game's faction table have someone attached to them. Operators and six-star counts below.

What a faction does not do

Nothing in our tables attaches a stat bonus, a team slot or a deployment rule to a faction. The tag says who an operator reports to in the fiction, and that is where its weight sits. Qingbo Stockade turns up in the Talos-II ruin intel entries, the Cabal of Tranquility is credited with the data compression inside an Endfield Industries training storage unit, and the Aggeloi hold a slightly odd position: they appear in lore and in the enemy lists, and no operator carries an Aggeloi race tag.

One loose end in the faction table: it ships eleven ids and nine are in use. Hongshan (tag_power_hongshan) has no operator attached, sitting beside Hongshan Academy of Sciences (HAS), which has five.

What the split says about the roster

Endfield Industries is the biggest bloc at thirteen, but size and star weight pull apart. The densest factions are the two five-operator groups: Rhodes Island and Hongshan Academy of Sciences each put four six-stars on the board. Seลก'qa is the one to watch on hit rate, two operators and both six-star.

Where the tags point: race and faction are the two fields that decide which lore entry an operator gets filed under, not which squad they fit. Everything else on an operator page, profession, element, main attribute, comes from the combat tables instead.

Races split far wider than factions. Nineteen names across thirty operators, and twelve of those names are held by a single operator. A race tier list right now is mostly a list of individuals, with one signal worth keeping: Sarkaz carries four of the six-stars, the most of any race in the roster.

Where the data stops

Our database tracks thirty-one operator entries, three of them Endministrator variants. Thirty carry a race tag and thirty carry a faction tag, which is how the two tables above fill out to the same total.

Two limits are worth naming. First, this is the roster's races, not the world's: the operator tag tables only cover playable operators, so non-playable races in the story never enter the counts. Second, our files hold no per-race description text. The one-line race blurbs in game come from the client, not from the tables we read, so anything longer than the name itself has to come from the operator profile in game.

Newer operators arrive as tags on the same two fields, so the race grid and the faction list update themselves. If a name is missing from either table on this site, it is missing from the game files we read, and we would rather say that than guess.
